Update Your Wardrobe: Top 10 Must-Haves for Spring/Summer

I mean, seriously, can Mother Nature get it together? And now, the sun is shining bright and all is right in world. In case you’re wondering how to update your look for Spring and Summer, I’ve put together a quick checklist of pieces that you can add to your closet that will seamlessly work with the rest of your wardrobe.

Colored Denim

Colored denim is having a mo-ment and I am living for it. I love this easy peasy way to incorporate color into your look without having to worry about if the temperature will let you be great.

Pleated Skirt

Now, while the length of said pleated skirt is totally up to you–mini, midi or maxi–you definitely need to have one of these up in the mix.
 Wide Leg Pants

Skinny pants have been getting all the play for what seems like years now. And palazzo pants have never left depending on how daring you are, but one style that falls right in the middle and is just about universally flattering? The wide leg pant.

Peplum

I couldn’t hope for a more lady-like detail to be all the rage this Spring and Summer. Whether on a jacket, skirt or dress, this is one classy addition.

Printed Pants

It’s kiiinda hard to ignore that these pants are everywhere. Literally. On Eku Edewor, in Jewel By Lisa, hopefully finding their way into your closet…

Neon Accents

Now, I love a full-on neon moment. I’m talking neons on neons on neons. But if’s that not your style, you can easily update your look with a neon lip, bag, shirt or freshly painted nails.

Something Lace

The thing about lace is, it can be edgy or it can be sweet. Or it can be both and that versatility has your name on it this season.

Tangerine Orange

Pantone deemed this Spring 2012′s IT color for a reason, this color is everything. It’s so flattering for most skin tones that whatever you wear in this shade will be amazing.

Pastels

Pale shades of your favorite bold color? So in, right now.

Color Blocking

This look calls for wearing your favorite bold or pale shades together. Though, I would stay in the same color family (a color wheel helps) and chose no more than 3 colors.
So, fashionistas, which of this trends will you add to your closet? Have you already? What can’t you get enough of? Let a girl know in the comments below!
