Stylish Footwear for Skinny Jeans

Skinny jeans are immensely popular in men’s fashion speak today; perhaps more so than ever in the past. While it takes a certain body type to be able to pull these off (men with large thighs, for example, should stick to a more relaxed fit), they can be very attractive when worn by the right guy. Perhaps the most difficult aspect of wearing skinny jeans is learning how to accessorize with them in an effective manner. This is especially true when it comes to choosing footwear to wear along with skinny jeans, a scenario in which many people don’t know where to start. The fact is, you can wear practically any style of footwear with skinny jeans, so long as the item meets certain criteria for being complimentary. The following tips can help you to pair three common styles of footwear with skinny denims, and are essential for those who wear these types of jeans regularly...
 1. LOAFERS: Believe it or not, the loafer is one of the most versatile styles of shoes to wear with skinny jeans, and are the perfect choice for both casual and business-casual scenarios. Loafers are ideal for summer wear without socks, but can just as easily be worn during a mild winter with a thicker pair of wool socks. When pairing with skinny jeans, brown or tan are typically the best choices for colors, although black can work as well. Stick to loafers that are a bit more casual. Canvas loafers or so-called “driving shoes” are excellent choices here. In order to attract a bit more attention to your footwear, stick to tassled loafers, which are prized for their eye-catching appearance. Dark-washed skinny jeans are preferable when pairing with loafers, as lighter-colored jeans tend to provide less contrast than the alternative.

2. LOW TOPS: Low tops are perhaps the perfect option for those who are relatively new to wearing skinny jeans and don’t want to take any risks in terms of how they accessorize them. In order to get the most out of pairing with low tops, stick to those which are clean and sleek in appearance; solid white with perhaps some neutral highlights will be the best option. This pairing is extremely versatile, in that it can be worn during an evening out at the club, or simply walking down sidewalk on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Since low tops tend to be relatively inexpensive in comparison to other, more formal types of footwear, you may want to own a few different pairs, which can really open up the versatility of your wardrobe.

3: MILITARY BOOTS: Military boots are very much in style at the moment, and are perfect for those who are looking for footwear that naturally draws attention to itself. Typically worn in informal situations, these boots not only provide adequate protection for your feet during the colder, wetter times of the year, but are perfect for pairing with heritage/vintage pieces for an urban, yet rugged look. Choose a slim-lined boot constructed out of tumbled brown leather; bison leather is an excellent material for this application. Remember that your boots will be more attention-grabbing if they feature metal buckles, which are typically added only for aesthetic purposes. Perhaps the most important thing to determine is whether to tuck the jeans in or wear them over the top of the boots. In most cases, skinny jeans will cling to the bottom of the leg, leaving little in terms of leeway for layering. As a result, this look is most effective when the jeans are tucked in.

Quick Note on Matching skinny jeans with ties:
Skinny jeans are perfect for a trendy look consisting of slim fitted shirt, sports coat with narrow lapels, and a solid color skinny tie. One of my favorite looks pairing skinny ties with slim fitted jeans: Black skinny jeans, paired with gray chucks, slim fitted white shirt, corduroy fitted sports coat in gray with narrow lapels, this solid white pocket square, this charcoal gray skinny tie, and the following silver tie clip - a GQ worthy look that will definitely give yu a ton of compliments!
