HAS MEN’S FASHION BECOME TOO FEMININE?

Is modern day men’s fashion crossing the border between metro and feminine? With extremely skinny jeans, scarfs, skirts and many designs that are now hitting the runway, a couple people are raising eyebrows. Is it possible that a man can be well-dressed and still maintain his masculinity?

Over the last couple of years we have started to see a a very controversial shift in men’s fashion. Things have become tighter, shorter, and have a more feminine look. Personally, I have no problem with a metro-sexual man that enjoys fashion and looking nice, but I do believe there are boundaries that men just shouldn’t cross.Their is a difference between skinny and snugged. I have never been a fan of baggy clothes. I think men look more clean cut with fitting clothes, but I don’t want your jeans or top to be more fitting than mine.

What many men fail to realize is that what you see on the runway is not always suitable for the average day man. You have to be mindful about what looks work for your height and body type, and for a lot of men that adopt this style (particularly extra slim clothing) that isn’t the case.
Overall I just believe that there is a thin line between being a metro-sexual, well-kept gentleman who loves fashion, and taking it to a feminine level. Fashion is all about taking risks, AS WELL as knowing what works and what doesn’t. You can still be fashionable and masculine. Check out some examples below:

Fonzworth  Bentley is another clean-cut well known male fashion icon today.
Mr. Kanye West is a perfect example of a man that knows all of the in’s and out’s of fashion. He is one of the most artistic and fashionable men that we know today, but no matter what risk he takes he always keeps his masculinity.

Another great example, David Beckham, has a rugged yet cool sense of style.
The gentleman above are living proof that fashion sense and masculinity can work hand-in-hand. As mentioned in the beginning of the post, this is a very controversial subject and its intent is not to offend anyone, its just  an opinion. At the end of day fashion is about freedom and creativity, so have fun with it and take risks…just be aware of the (gender) lines that you may be crossing.

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?
DO YOU AGREE THAT MENS FASHION IS BECOMING A BIT TOO FEMININE?
