Hot! or Hmm… Nicki Minaj’s New Toned Down Look

With a well-received judging gig on American Idol, and a new hairstylist to boot, it’s been practically impossible not to notice a recent change in Nicki Minaj’s appearance.

The once pink haired, over the top make-up wearing, costume donning rapstress many have grown accustomed to, seems to have ditched the “gimmick” for a dialed back beauty and style regimen.

At her MAC event in Beverly Hills, Nicki opted for a flirty white Alexander McQueen Textured Stretch-Knit Dress and Fendi Fendista pumps. Her makeup skewed soft and simple. Her wig was blonde with dark roots (presumably for a more natural effect).

When it came time to dress for the Elton John Oscar Viewing Party, Ms. Minaj bet on white again, this time shimmering in an embellished Roberto Cavalli number.

The new look seems refreshing, but who can forget Nicki’s outlandish past?

While I am enjoying the more demure side of Nicki Minaj, there are folks who are a bit disappointed. It seems they miss her theatrics, and her over-the-top ensembles. They’re simply not on board with the new look.

Nigeria’s Fashion Police is Ready for You – Discover the “GlamSquad”

Hehehe! I can't wait to laugh some of our celebrity fashion bombers! a new reality talk show Glamsquad is launching soon.
Glamsquad is a reality talk show inspired by E! Entertainment Television’s hit series – Fashion Police, but adapted and made culturally relevant to our society here in Nigeria.
Just like E!’s Fashion Police, the show will have 4 regular co-hosts with surprise guest appearances once in a while to keep viewers on their toes and will see them critique and discuss the dos and don’ts of the fashion in the country. The show will not only focus on celebrities, but also on socialites and wannabes.
 rogramme Segments
Air Bags – In this segment, the panelists guess a celebrity based solely on the amount of cleavage revealed by their outfit.
Who Wore it Better -This time, the panelists spotlight two or more stars wearing the same outfit on different occasions or even at the same event. They discuss the individuals in question and select who they think looked best in the outfit. Warning: Both the loser and the winner may be subjected to ridicule with the winner chosen as the lesser of two evils.
Hit or Miss – In this slot, the photograph of a person with their face obscured is presented, often the individual will sport a revealing or disheveled clothing. The hosts and each of the guests have a paddle with “Beginner”  written on one side and “Interm+ediary” written on the other. The person’s outfit is ridiculed, before the anchor and each of the guest hold up their paddle to declare whether they think, the individual in question is a beginner or an intermediary, before the mystery person’s identity is revealed to all. If they turn out to be a starlet, they are ridiculed more.
Senior/Senorita - Here the celebrity being analysed is not revealed and accurate given to those who got the sex right.
O.T.T (Over the Top) – The panelists x-ray and bring down the celebrities who overdress all in a bid to make fashion statement but have unconsciously committed “tautology”
Be Weave it or Not – The panelists x-ray celebrities adornment of weave on and make a pronouncement on who’s hot and who’s not.
Style Vigilante – This is the out and about segment where images from events are analysed. The hosts make comments on the style saviness of the celebrity being revealed.

Pictures From The 2012 BET Awards featuring Beyonce, Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, and more!

Hey Fashionistas!
Here i have the pictures from The 2012 BET Awards that took place in Los Angeles last Sunday night, fashions were a veritable boredom.

Anyway, let’s get into it!

Mystic Creole King Bey of the House of Yincé was escorted to her throne front row seat, radiant even in this questionably-hued Stéphane Rolland frock and Givenchy Sandals. I’m feeling the belt...Hot!

Kim Kardashian was no doubt thrilled to have the opportunity to legitimize her celebrity by sharing bisous with Her Majesty. I am really getting bored with Ms. K’s penchant for the monochromatic. *Sigh* this is what happens when you (allegedly) let a man take over your closet!

Jay-Z and Kanye West looked predictably dull next to their respective dates. Kanye seems committed to not wearing color or pattern these days. Hmm… I know he thinks he’s adding some edge to his look, but in reality, he’s putting us all to to sleep! I miss the old Yeezy!

Lala Anthony stunned in a Lois London Jumpsuit and Jimmy Choo Sandals. I like this look on Lala. Her body looks HOT!

Selita Ebanks rocked a sheer-skirted printed frock from Falguni & Shane Peacock. I see she’s left her usually-tragic wigs in the crypt where they belong! I’m loving her soft curls! Hot all around!

Kerry Washington usually brings it on the red carpet, but this time she eschewed glamour and bet on basic. This look is in desperate need of some drama! I’m bored! Hmm…

Tatyana Ali opted for a poorly-executed version of the ubiquitous peplum, serving bumblebee (not so) chic. Yeah, I love Ms. Ali, but this probably-expensive skirt looks a little cheap to me. Hmm…

Wow! Is it just me, or is Swizz Beatz tryna style on folks now? The producer threw on a pair of Givenchy tropical print pants, finishing his look with a white slit shoulder top and white shell-tops. Hot!

Nicki Minaj attended in her usual Hmm…-worthy fare.

Willow and Jayden Smith posed together on the red carpet. One day Jayden will look back on this photo and chuckle at the fact that he doesn’t look as cool as he thinks he does. Poor chap is serving the kids a bewildered Blue Steel. Work anyway!
Toccara Jones couldn’t decide which print would be most unflattering on her, so she chose to wear three. Hmm… I’m not feeling this, Toccara has a slammin’ bod, it would have been nice to see her figure in a more tailored number!

Yolanda Adams once again brought a necessary touch of class and elegance in this red floor-lengthed gown. The gospel singer snatched all manner of wigs, one of which she gingerly placed atop her head. Hot! on the dress, Hmm… on the hair.

Flo Rida hit the carpet in his Easter Sunday suit with boo Melyssa Ford. As long as there are women with figures like hers, cutout bodycon dresses will not go out of style.

Rapper Lola Monroe thought no one would notice that unfortunate makeup job so long as she looked bangin’ in her dress. Hot! dress, BIG Hmm… on that makeup! An ashy lip will never be chic, unless of course, that zombie apocalypse really does happen.
What Jermaine Dupri‘s stylist calls swag, I call a suffragette hat.
Does anybody not like 2 Chainz? The Versace-dipped rapper enjoyed a probably-alcoholic beverage on the red carpet. The Styrofoam cup is a little trashy, but I think the rest of the outfit is Hot!
Go ‘head miss Taraji, you don’t need to spanx!
You know what? I think Elle Varner is totally cute, but this paisley getup is not my cup of tea. Also, what’s with the long sleeves in the Los Angeles heat?
Meanwhile, in the real world, Nicole Scherzinger had a fun night out in this black-embellished number. I’m so bored by this look, I can only notice her neon nail polish. Hot! on that pedi!
And finally, Eva Marcille attended Lala Anthony’s Pre-BET Awards Birthday Brunch in an African print skirt and spandex mock turtleneck crop top. The look is Hot!

Weekend Hot! or Hmm…

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend and gave your mommies some appreciation!
As for me i did had fun thanks to Auto Lounge...;)
Let’s get into this weekend’s looks shall we?

Rihanna treated her mommy to a fab Mother’s Day Dinner in NYC and did it in a long shirtdress left unbuttoned to show her black bandeau, high-waist trousers, $845 Azzedine Alaia Suede and PVC Sandals, and an oversize kiss lock clutch. I’ll take these accessories please!

Her makeup was kept fresh and she didn’t put much effort into her hair which was fine for her ensemble. Looking good Rih!

Nicki Minaj took her talents to Carson, California and performed at 102.7 KIIS FM’s Wango Tango concert. She rocked an all-white getup that was “Like A Virgin” gone bondage. Oh Nicki…

Despite her crazy onstage look, her makeup was on point! The blonde lace front isn’t going anywhere ya’ll so we’ll just have to deal. She’s clearly a pretty woman to even be able to rock it without looking a complete mess!

Kat Graham was also spotted at Wango Tango in an asymmetrical zipper detailed dress. She accessorized with black Doc Martens. Hmm…

She wore an 80′s style curly ponytail atop her head. Kat lives for edge, but this look is entirely too busy! I am also totally confused as to why she went blonde: it really isn’t a color for everyone. Consult your stylists ladies!

Now moving onto the fellas at Wango Tango… J. Cole looked cool in a varsity jacket boasting his initials, camo pants, and high-top sneakers. Hot!

Varsity jackets are clearly a big trend for guys because Diggy Simmons also rocked one at Wango Tango. He paired his with a printed tee, denim, and Jordans. I love Diggy’s style!

Over in Paris, the Smiths attended the Men in Black 3 European Premiere. Will looked positively dapper in all-white, while Jada covered the other end of the spectrum in a black fringe gown from Giorgio Armani which she paired with black leather Linda Sandals from Jimmy Choo. Such a hot couple!

Check out the back of Jada’s dress. Is she working it or what?

Alesha Dixon went glam at the Dorchester Hotel in London. She wore a black and gold gown from Julien Macdonald’s Fall 2011 collection.

Bombshell waves and a red lip finished off her look. One of the best ensembles of the weekend!

Over in NYC, Mariah Carey and her hubby attended the Project Canvas Charity Event. She kept it neutral in a zip-front dress and $825 Yves Saint Laurent Tribute Patent Leather Pumps. Cute!

She lightened up her locks and rocked a nude lip. Mimi went a little heavy on the foundation, but other than that she looks great.

Zoe Saldana was spotted in New York City in a casual look including a cardigan, striped dress, and woven gladiator sandals. She looks relaxed and polished, though her pink bag was not the best choice of accessory.

Jessica Alba got in some family time in LA with her daughters and husband. She rocked a beloved scarf with $210 Earnest Sewn Cotton Candy Harlan Jeans and a pair of leather high-top sneakers. Loving this look!

Continuing the colored denim trend, Eva Longoria was also spotted in LA, indulging in some pampering. She wore a button-front blouse with pink skinnies and $650 Miu Miu Criss Cross Sandals. Eva is slowly climbing up my list of best-dressed ladies every week! She has really been getting it right lately and does simple and chic so well.

Misa Hylton Brim attended the Simone I. Smith trunk show at Neiman Marcus in Atlanta. Drooling over her $695 Pierre Hardy Canvas Multi Color Wedges!

Rita Ora loves to party and she did just that at the Whisky Mist in London. She paired her beloved Christian Louboutin Unbout Illusion Pumps with an edgy leather dress and studded clutch.

She hardly ever leaves home without a red lip and she rocked it here. I personally like this look a lot: it isn’t for everyone but I think Rita wears it well.
Who had your favorite looks this weekend?
