Gabrielle Union‘s Stunning Bill Blass gown at the Movie Premeiere of "Think Like A Man"

There were plenty of stars at the Atlanta premiere for Think Like A Man from Lala Anthony to Kevin Hart but all eyes were on Gabrielle Union‘s stunning Bill Blass gown.

The yellow floor-length gown, which boasted a halter neckline and trendy pleats along the full skirt, was resplendent against Gabby’s flawless skin.

5 Ways To Wear Your Favourite T-Shirts

Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, and Jennifer Aniston all add style to basic tees (Photos: Pacific Coast News)

Who doesn’t just love a worn-in, slightly faded t-shirt? From ones with funny catchphrases or pictures, to those that act as souvenirs from memorable nights, tees are a great way to make a statement about yourself.
Between concert keepsakes, sorority and club uniforms, and the crazy and hilarious selection at Urban Outfitters, I’ve managed to stockpile probably 50 t-shirts over the last couple of years! Sure, they’re comfortable, and awesome for lazy days (or even to sleep in!) but what’s a girl to do when she wants to rock a tee AND still look stylish?
Yes ladies, you can have your cake and eat it too. Today, I’m going to share a few different ways you can rock your favorite t-shirt and still look unique and cute for class. Read on!

1. Add a Cute Jacket

T-shirt outfit 1: Beatles Abbey Road tee, cutoff denim shorts,
military jacket, two-finger ring, sandals
T-Shirt, Shorts, Sandals, Ring, Jacket
One of the most basic ways to spruce up a t-shirt is by pairing it with a cute structured jacket or a cardigan, as opposed to a frumpy hoodie. Small details, like adding a ring, fishtail braiding your hair instead of throwing it into a sloppy ponytail, and wearing gladiator sandals instead of flip flops can make all the difference in how you look and feel. The best part is, these little extras take just seconds to add — you’ll look great, but still make it to class on time.

2. Try It with a Skirt

T-shirt outfit 2: Light pink swing skirt, graphic tee, striped
wedges, fedora
Hat, Shirt, Skirt, Wedges, Ring
Another easy way to wear a t-shirt and still look cute is to tuck it into a skirt. I especially like this pretty pink circle skirt since it’s slightly high-waisted – it’s dressy enough to wear on a date or look put-together in class, but isn’t so fancy that you compromise comfort. Pair this look with wedges — stilettos can look strange with something as casual as a graphic tee — and finish the look with a quirky fedora and statement ring.

3. Go for an Androgynous Look

T-shirt outfit 3: Androgynous look with boyfriend jeans, red
graphic tee, basic toms shoes, messenger bag, belt, menswear watch,
beanie
T-Shirt, Shoes, Jeans, Belt, Hat, Bag, Watch
The relaxed look and feel of your favorite tee will look great with a pair of boyfriend jeans and a few deliberately placed menswear accessories. Experiment with beanies, classic leather belts, different pairs of casual shoes, and menswear timepieces. You’ll look casual and comfy, but not sloppy. Finish with a handy messenger bag.

4. Try It with a Vest

T-shirt outfit 4: Rolling stones tee, denim vest, skinny jeans,
leopard flats, jewelry
T-Shirt, Shoes, Bracelet, Pants, Vest, Earrings
A denim vest is a fun, unexpected way to add a rock and roll feel to an otherwise basic jeans-and-tee look. This look is especially chic with a concert t-shirt, or printed pants! Finish off the outfit with a bold pair of shoes, eye-catching earrings, and a tough-looking bracelet.

5. Pair It with a Maxi Skirt

T-shirt outfit 5: Mint maxi skirt, leopard heart tee, bird ring,
gold sparkle flats, red head scarf
Shirt, Skirt, Headscarf, Ring, Shoes
This outfit has a bit of a Carrie Bradshaw feel to it: It’s bold for sure, but with the right amount of confidence, it’s easy to pull off! One way to make good use out of your maxi skirt is to pair it with a t-shirt. Make sure the tee isn’t too busy, and knot it right where the skirt begins for an ultra-chic look. Finish the outfit with a headscarf, classy ring, and ballet flats.

What Do You Think?

How do you dress up your t-shirts? How many do you think you’ve accumulated over the last few years? Would you ever pair a t-shirt with a skirt? What other pieces do you have trouble styling? Leave a comment and tell me what you think!

Guys Guide To Easter Sunday Mass

If you hadn’t noticed all the store displays, abundance of candy, and students being out of school then you might not know that Easter is happening this Sunday. For some it may mean going to church for the first time this year, having a eater egg hunt with family & friends, or just going out for a nice brunch to enjoy another Sunday. This post is focusing on church wear.
Guys Guide To Easter Sunday Mass
The Sunday Mass Look:
Many of you are going to Sunday mass this Sunday because of your religious beliefs or in my case an overbearing yet loving mother who doesn’t want to see her oldest boy go to hell. (But I digress) When it comes to displaying personal style in religious situations one must put their ego aside to be respectful.  You can go or this seasons bright colors but don’t overdo it because the service is not about you no matter how bad you want it to be.
A blazer is a must and a houndstooth blazer like this one from Tallia Orange works with a variety of outfits.  This Ben Sherman shirt is a great mix of simple and detailed to stand alone or under a jacket. A tie is a must when it comes to dressing up and this Brooks Brother necktie is a great pop of color on top.
When the top of your outfit is pretty tame it is best to shock people by having a super interesting bottom. That’s what I strongly recommend a color trouser like these from Jil Sander. If you’re pants are going to be really loud then allow your shoes to tone them down. A simple pair of dressy lace ups will do the trick and Topman has you covered. The cherry on top of this outfit should be your watch. I recommend choosing one with a very classic face but going for a bright colored band like this GUESS timepiece.

Solange Knowles’ Bold Lip & Glowing Skin at the American Beauty Party!

Solange Knowles is taking the worlds of F&B by storm, and again I love her more! Her face was beat to utter perfection at Caliborne Swanson’s American Beauty book launch party! I kid you not ladies, as of lately Solange (who is featured in the book) can do no glammy wrong in my eyes; homegirl is always on point!
From her shimmering, golden skin to her poppy red lips, this look was stunning. Of course we’re not going to tease you by just ranting and raving about how well Solange pulled this look off, we’re sharing tips on how you can get the look yourself.
Get The Look!:

  1. Start by applying primer to a clean, moisturized face.
  2. Apply concealer where needed followed by a sheer foundation or tinted moisturizer. Solange’s foundation is golden and luminous, so mix a little golden bronzer or shimmering face cream with your foundation for an added glow, followed by.
  3. Full brow’s are a hot trend this season, and Solange is working them the right way! To get this look use an eyebrow pencil or eyeshadow powder to fill in your brows and/or to give them a nice, arched shape.
  4. Touch up your T-zone using a highlight to bring more dimension to your face. Make sure you blend for the look od a natural glow.
  5. Bring glam chicness to your eyes by lining the upper and lower lashlines with black eyeliner. Follow with two coats of volumizing mascara.
  6. Let your lips steal the show by topping it all off with a bold, red lip!
Try these products to help you get the look:

Are you feeling Solange’s beautifully beat face? Are you excited to try this look?

Marc Jacobs Is Launching A Makeup Line!

Photobucket
Because what else do you do if you’re a famous fashion designer that makes awesome accessories as well as fragrances, too?!
According to WWD,  Marc Jacobs will be pairing up with SEPHORA to create his very first color cosmetics collection.
“I see makeup, fragrance – everything, really – as an opportunity,” Jacobs told WWD in an interview while discussing his upcoming July fragrance, DOT. “The idea of choosing a color for your lip, or an eyeliner, it’s just such a delight. The ritual of waking up and making these choices is something people really enjoy.”

Marc Jacobs newest fragrance, DOT, launches in July. Looks super cute, right?!
No launch date for the cosmetics collection has been announced just yet, but my fingers are crossed that it launches by early next year.

SNAPSHOT: Solange For Complex Magazine April 2012

Hi Fashionistas! Yeah i know i post about Solange, i love style alot her fashion sense is never wrong. Solange Knowles appears in Complex Magazine‘s 10th Anniversary Issue, in a feature where she is referred to as the “trillest member of the Knowles clan.” That kind of makes my life. Styled by Peju Famojure, Sol Angel rocks a Kenzo top, Margarita Sapala skirt, Uncommon Matters bracelets, Push by PushMataaha earrings and Linda Farrow vintage shades (below). Check the magazine for her other fashion credits.

In the profile, she reveals that she loves Chrissy Lampkin from VH1′s Love & Hip Hop and that she may leave Brooklyn for Europe. Check out some excerpts:
I’d rather be submissive than dominant. Strong, independent women share this sentiment of wanting to be taken over sexually behind closed doors. It’s the natural balance for a woman like me.
I’d rather live in the U.S. than Europe. I talk shit about the American way, and how much more together Europe is as a society, but traveling as much as I have, there are lots of things I appreciate about home. I plan on living in Europe at some point, but for now I’m good in Brooklyn.
I’d rather be on the cast of Love & Hip-Hop than Project Runway. I’ve never seen Project Runway, but I’m a huge Chrissy [Love & Hip-Hop star Christine Lampkin] fan. I’d need to take boxing lessons from her first though, nahmean?
I’d rather be the cool aunt than the authoritative aunt. The closer my sister came to motherhood, the more stern she was with my son, Julez, but when he was between the ages of 1 and 4, she put the s in spoiling. I had to deal with the cool aunt for seven years, and I’m ready for payback! Late nights, candy binges—I’m doing it all!
I’d rather be the protector than the protected. I’m naturally the protector—being a mother and having a famous family. You have to navigate when it’s right to protect. I’ve made mistakes, but just know, if you step to me and mine, me and Chrissy gon’ have to fuck you up.
