DESIGNERS SPOTLIGHT
What’s better than a talented designer, who aside from promoting herself, helps uplift other designers from 3rd world countries around the globe? Meet Nakia Fisher. As well as creating handmade jewelry inspired by African Adinkra Symbols, she also showcases handmade home decor products by fair trade artisans from Lima, Peru; Divine chocolate from Ghana; and luxurious textiles from Zambia. Nakia says of her mission:
“Through fair trade organizations and direct contact with artisans around the world, it has been a blessing to have the ability to promote social and economic justice for people in developing regions by marketing their handicrafts in a just and direct manner.”
As well as being socially conscious, Nakia designs striking earrings, necklaces and bracelets made from amethyst, prehite and onyx. She also paints the artwork on soy candles available on her site. 10 FALL WINTER MEN'S STYLE TIPS
Sup Fashionistas! its a new week,another chance to make things better...alright lets get down,this post is mainly for my peeps freezing out there esp U.K :(....guys you don't have to jam cloths because of the weather okay! yea i can feel you,so we are in this together here are some tips to keep you going:
Ankles on Display: That's right fully displayed, but socked up of course. Play around with fully displaying your socks this season. Meaning roll up our pants or push them up above your thick textured boot socks. You'll end up with a clean layering of boots-socks-pants.

Plaid on Plaid: Plaid on Plaid on Plaid (you gotta say it like "stacks on stacks on stacks" though, lol). Plaid, ahh, boring right? Well let's revitalize it a bit. This summer we added army fatigue to it to give a boost, now just get raw with it– add plaid on plaid on plaid. But different pattern plaids, and in those cozy winter textures.
Colorblocked Ombre: Ombre is basically shades of color or different gradients of a color, usually going from light to dark. While women see this trend in their dresses, jackets, etc. men mostly see the ombre trend in accessories and maybe t-shirts. Well, we've put our Urban Gents spin on it, and have created "colorblocked ombre". Start from the top or bottom and gradually increase the intensity of the color you're wearing. We started with cream shoes, khaki and cream socks, khaki/olive trousers, then solid bold olive-brown shirt and jacket.
Braces/Suspenders: 'Tis the season for manning up, basically its getting cold so beards and 'staches are growing out. Complete the look with a pair of braces– that means they should button on, not clamp 
.
.Hint of Pattern: Last year it was all about the hint of camouflage, now it's more all inclusive. Add a touch of something extra to your 'fit with a patterned highlight, whether it's camouflage, native prints, or anything else you may like.
Sock Season: Yep, it's sock season, and we're getting giddy like little kids, hehehe. Because these days a man has to have a couple pairs on deck that are pretty much specifically to be seen by those who gaze upon him. Patterns of all shades and sizes and colors are appropriate.
Denim on Denim: An Urban Gent oldie, but goodie. In the summer you double-denimed with lighter colors, for winter do it with darker denim. Add a few cowboy details to push it up a notch.
Preppy Hints: As much as I love classic prep gear, it's getting a bit hackneyed, right?! Yea, it is, so let's slow it down before we hate it and go the complete opposite into grunge-wear or something. To ease up on the prep, let's keep it to the accessories, like scarves.
90s: Add a little 90s to your look whenever you can– snapbacks, simply oversized sneakers, gold accessories, whatever fits the bill.
Simple Accessories: It's fine to overdose here and there, but keep accessories simple. They should compliment not overtake your ensemble… think hat, watch, and patterned socks.

CRANTZ TODAY'S FASHION BLUNDER

Apparently, Gaga wore this to a friends-and-family party at a restaurant. With her parents. I would like very much to see the looks on my own parents’ faces if I showed up to dinner wearing ardently pro-math nipple shields, a rubber claw sprouting from my wrist, the floor mats from a car too cheap to use rubber, and a silver crustacean — much less tried to hug them. Stomping, fainting, and gritted teeth might be involved. On the plus side, I guess Gaga is her own easy-clean lobster bib.
All that is tough to compete with, so I don’t envy Bryce Dallas Howard this task. Nor do I envy her this outfit:
Severe hair + harsh lipstick + bad color + window treatment + sheer + wrong shoes + I secretly hate French-tip pedicures + I can’t even tell if that IS a pedicure + why does your eye shadow match your hair? = a perfect storm of fug.
This isn’t a great equation either:
Undershirt + weird socks + high-heeled clogs + trash-bag body stocking = turn around and get back in the car.
Hmm. Maybe the REAL problem here is that Bryce Dallas Howard is lousy at math. hahaha! wtf! jagbajantis

That, of course, led to a buttock buffet— all well and good when you’re wearing your satin sleep shorts and belly tee in the comfort of your own home, but kind of egregious when you’re out shopping and appear to be exiting a store that sells only the things that are doing their job properly here: shoes.
Neither lady fares consistently well with dresses, either.
However, this does provide inspiration for anyone who longs to yoke their undergarments and their lampshades.
Whether he did this to himself for a role, for giggles, or because he lost a bet, it still doesn’t explain why he felt his chin needed little pigtails.
You might think comparing Pitt’s facial hair to Miley’s clothing is a task that’s Herculean in its randomness. And yet I may have found him a new picture hehehe:

The Knowledge: how to shop for your man
Wise buys for guys
It's difficult to shop for a man as they tend to buy everything they want themselves. If you haven't got much money, just buy the best pair of socks or the best shirt you can, rather than a cheap version of something expensive. A knitted tie is a key purchase - it's ageless, timeless and looks great dressed up or down. I love Ralph Lauren's ties. Cashmere sweaters suit everyone, as do shirts - you can never have enough shirts
The trends to befriend
If you want to buy an on-trend outfit for a man, go for a pale-blue button-down shirt with a knitted tie, chinos, a pair of loafers and a double-breasted knitted cardigan. Stripy tops or a chambray shirt are great if you want to be a little more adventurous, and navy is a particularly flattering colour. But stay clear of anything too fashiony. Don't buy any drop-crotch sweat pants from Rick Owens unless the man has specifically requested a pair. This season the braver man will try gladiator sandals - but they're not for everyone. Think about the man's profession and what he already has in his wardrobe, so your purchase is practical.
Accessorise
Comme des Garçons leather wallets look great come in lots of shades, so it's one area where a man can be a bit more colourful. Belts are also good to buy, as men don't often spend a lot of money on them. You could give them a really luxurious one.
Finishing touches
No man is going to complain if you buy an expensive men's watch. A man wears a watch because he can't wear a Porsche on his wrist. It's the one thing that men feel OK to talk about sartorially. Beaded bracelets are great buys, too. Whenever I go to Italy, all the men are wearing them with their beautiful designer suits. They add a bit of irreverence to a classic outfit.
Appeal to his vanity
When it comes to presents for men the best things come in small packages. Tell them the gift will make them look younger and more handsome and they won't argue - most men are open to grooming. But you want products that looks good in the bathroom, too, such as Aesop or Ole Henriksen. Fragrances are difficult, as they smell different on different people, although I'd never turn down a Tom Ford scent - they are all amazing.
Toys for boys
Men love their gadgets. My favourite place to shop is japantrendshop.com , which sells a lot of things that you can only buy in Tokyo and Japan, but everything will work in Britain. Every man should have a toasted-sandwich maker, because most men can't cook particularly well. I went to Babington House just after Christmas and had the most amazing toasted cheese and tomato sandwich I've ever had, and my life mission is to recreate it.
